Access Statement

The Pendeen is an eight bedroom licensed Guest House that can cater for the majority of needs of most guests. The following statement is a basic summary of facilities offered. Please contact for any detailed questions that need answering.

We are open all year round.

Pre arrival

The structure and layout of the building makes the premises unsuitable for guests with serious mobility impairment.

We can accommodate guests with sight or hearing impairment if accompanied to ensure their safety.

Information about the Pendeen can be viewed via our website. Contact can be made via telephone, email or post.

Details of emergency doctor, dentist, forgotten medicines and local attractions can be found in room welcome folders.

The nearest bus stop is 1 minute walk Northbound (town) and 2 minute walk Southbound (airport).

We are approximately 10 minute walk, 4-5 minute taxi ride from Blackpool North railway station.

Taxis can be booked for your arrival, please ask for details.

The trams run along the promenade from Starr Gate to Fleetwood and the nearest stop is about 3 – 4 minute walk from the Manchester.

The newly regenerated sea front is across the tram lines.

Lonsdale Coach Station, Blackpool FC and public car park is 1 minute walk, with Talbot Road bus station (National Express) 6 minute taxi ride.

We carry a stock of local bus and tram timetables for your convenience Blackpool town centre is approximately 15 minute walk

The Pleasure Beach and Sandcastle Waterpark approximately 10 minute walk. Your arrival and parking

If you arrive by car double yellow lines are directly outside, unloading and loading permitted. Unlimited free parking opposite of road if available. A public pay and display is at the end of the road. We have one medium sized space available at a cost, but must be pre booked to secure it. Please ask for details. Assistance with luggage is available.

Ground floor reception, dining room and bar
Access from the road is up 8 steps with a wooden handrail on the right hand side. A mental handrail is on the right hand side of the front door, a small porch leads to a secondary door. All areas have short pile carpets. The reception area has a chair and payphone. The dining room has chairs without arms and the dining room furniture can be moved on request. Special diets can be catered for with prior notice eg vegetarian or nut allegies. The bar / lounge has no fixed times of opening although it will generally be open after breakfast, except when guests are taking evening meals, when it will only serve them evening meals.

Bedrooms
There are 8 bedrooms, 2 single and 2 double standard rooms, 1 family ensuire and 3 twin / double / small family ensuite. All rooms have short pile carpets, kettles, complimentary trays and tv / dvd combis and welcome folders. Also towels and shower mats. All shower are step in with a small step.

On the first floor there are 2 single and 1 double standard rooms with shared wc and wc with shower, 1 ensuite with double bed and 1 single bed and 1 family ensuite with double and bunk beds.

On the second floor there are 2 ensuites with 1 double bed and 1 single bed 1 double standard bedroom with shared wc.

All bedding is non allergic and all rooms have combined smoke / fire detectors and sounders fitted.

Other information
Smoking is not permitted in any area of the Pendeen. A cigarette bin is provided on the pillar next to the footpath. Combined smoke / fire detectors and sounders are fitted in all rooms and hallways. Emergency lighting is fitted on first and second floor landings and entrance hall.

We can provide iron and ironing board, hair dryers, shaving and dental kits and wheelchair loan at extra cost.

A laundry is located in the next road, approximately 3 minutes walk.
